Pressed & Bound

The Book and Movie Review Show

No voting this week because we get all artsy fartsy

Donning monocles, top hats, and coats with tails, we go and rub noses with the social elite to admire contemporary works of art that generally look like something your niece could make in preschool. This is one of those times.

Aliens, wolves, more aliens, and some snooty book [AtMPS]

Now that it is springtime, we are seeing more films emerge from their winter cocoons. They come and blossom like tulips in the warm sun, each attempting to grow higher and brighter to attract the most bees. In this extremely difficult to understand analogy, we are the bees.

Come Friday we will have four new films to potentially view. Help us figure out which movie to pollinate with our eyes and money!

We’re bringing voting back! Vote for next week’s film. [AtMPS]

With only about 30% of Americans voting in any election, it’s high time we start going to the polls to make sure that the will of the people is heard. The “will” in question this week? The film we should see for the show!

Zombies and low brow comedy [At the MPS 09/10/10]

This coming week brings us two very simple films. One is all about the plight of peaceful undead inhabitants of the future zombie apocalypse and the other is a quick (or quicker, depending on you look at zombie film) movie about high-school kids trying to lose their virginity. Somebody call the Oscar judges!

Another week shows up with a few new films to watch. After last week’s surprise of adorableness that was Ramona and Beezus, can this week possibly keep up? At least Salt ended up being a worthless film, so I hear. I sure am glad we didn’t have to see that.

I do not really even have the words to describe what is coming out. All I can do at this point is describe – using words – how I have no words to describe the new films this week. It’s quite the predicament that we are in, really.

Holy crap, you guys, a new post! I could have sworn we shut this whole thing down a few weeks ago. It would make sense. There’s this whole economic crisis going on, the oil disaster is still raging, and some country kicked a ball good. All of these things have a immediate effect on the show, and for about a month we just couldn’t take it. That, or we simply didn’t shoot shows because IT’S THE SUMMER, BABY, WOO!

Now that we’re back on the horse, let’s see what films are coming out this week.

It’s been several weeks (three whole weeks, in fact) since Episode 100 graced the internet with a grace and composure the likes of which no mortal man has ever seen before. Now, we are gearing up for 101 and hoping to get back to the regular shenanigans of yesteryear. This week, we have a few movies to choose from.

This week we have a remake, a film about “privileged, white angst,” and a movie that makes me tremble in fear; guess which one that is.
