Hooray for producing your own web show that doesn’t make money or is required to have episodes due to sponsorship agreements! This week we are doing the chill and being complete bums. This has happened before, so this news probably doesn’t freak you out that much, but what you should know is that next week may prove to be completely awesome.

We’re taking a break this week, but next week will be epic.
The Wire: Damn you McNulty!

Many years have passed since the start of my membership with Netflix. Having seen multitudes of films and television shows (according to the site I’ve rated 688 titles), from that mash Netflix conveniently told me one day that I “might like The Wire.” So I clicked on the “Sure, whatever, send me this show and I will watch it” button, which otherwise is know as the “Add” button. It was not a bad decision.

Nintendorks Radio Episode 58

I should really stop being a shill for this other podcast, but I know that some of you out there would be sad if you go without hearing my sexy voice for too long. As discussed yesterday, I will be out of town all week because I’m going to California for a big-ass expo full of thousands of nerds. The collective nerditude that will be focused in the L.A. Convention Center for 72 hours next week may in fact create a black hole. With, that said, though, this week on Nintendorks Radio, we talk about going to this crazy event of craziness.

Leavin’ on a Jet Plane

I may have accidentally got involved with some bad people. These bad people have accidentally helped me get into the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3. Basically, it’s the biggest video game conference in the land.
E3 Expo is the world’s premiere trade show for computer and video games and related products. The show is owned by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies, publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the Internet. For more information, please visit www.E3Expo.com or www.theESA.com.
As a result, and because this week I have been doing work to prepare for that whole shindig, we will not be having a show this week. On Monday I will be flying out to the crazy land of Los Angeles. Not only will I be attending this conference, but I will also attempt to re-enact my favorite scenes from Angels in the Outfield.
So many apologies for only having one show in the span of a month and a half, but when things come up there is but little we can do except ride the wave. After this week, however, my summer is essentially free of all obstruction. At that point we will resume proper-like.
Nintendorks Radio Episode 57

I am again a traitorous jerk and speak my words about video games with another site. Oh how we discuss those video games. Here, there, and everywhere we are talking about those video games. Silly us.
Info about this episode after the break…
A Website You Should See
The website that I am about to discuss my very well be old hat for a lot of you out there in internetland. I know for a fact that one of the articles has made its way around the nerdosphere quite some time ago. That’s all well and good, and should not deter your from reflecting long and hard on the clicking of the following link to get one step closer to ending this sentence and fully learning what the heck I am even talking about.

The Next Couple of Weeks
If you happened to watch our 100th episode, you might have heard – jokingly at the time – that we were taking a couple of weeks off. Well, now that we have put some thought into it, a short vacation is not a bad idea.
Basically, the next two weekends (and possibly even Memorial Day weekend) will be filled with all sorts of pleasantries that will hinder or outright block our ability to do a show. For example, this weekend I will be out of town (seeing Conan) and next weekend is the second Hardmode.org charity event. There will unfortunately be little time for Pressed & Bound shenanigans for those weeks. Definitely check out the charity event, though, it will be awesome.
And that is the long and short of it. Episode 101 may be a few weeks yet. JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU GUYS A HEADS UP.
Nintendorks Radio Episode 56

I have been again invited to discuss things of the digital nature over at Nintendorks. This week we talk about Starcraft II while PLAYING STARCRAFT II. Listen to us yell at people who are way better than us at this game.
It’s time for another edition of Nintendorks Radio with your hosts Travis Woodside and Garret Evans. You can get your episode now on iTunes (search for Nintendorks Radio in the iTunes store) or right here.
Episode 056 – Well Burn My Biscuits
StarCraft II discussion herein. Biscuit burning and flying buildings. Also, apparently Super Mario Galaxy 2 is out soon.Apologies for some sound issues in this episode. Though I was wearing an overly expensive headset I accidentally recorded all of my sound through an internal macbook speaker. It’s not awful sounding, but its not ideal and it picked up some lovely background noise at times including, but not limited to, mouse clicking and typing.
Other games discussed: Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Cave Story
Disclaimer: We kept saying “Well burn my biscuits!” but the quote in game is apparently, “Well butter my biscuits.” It’s spoken by a SCV in StarCraft II.
Head over here to check it out.
MP3′s Have Come Home!
If you have been a diligent reader of the passed couple of weeks you will have noticed that an MP3 version of the show has made its grand re-appearance. We’ve had a few inquiries into why we got rid of it before (the answer, as most are around these parts, has a lot to do with laziness), so it is now back. Bam. Your day is much better.
There currently is no rss feed specifically for the mp3 version, so please simply check the posts. It’s the cool thing to do.
Haiku Thursday 04/08/10: Back in Action
It has been a few weeks, but it seems like we have totally forgotten about Haiku Thursdays! Well not any more, because here comes a steamy pile of haiku goodness the likes of which you seldom see.
Garret’s Haiku
Yes, Hardmode.org,
Charity plus games is great.
The nerds, they are BACK.Multitasking, YES!
Folders, features, yay! But wait…
I have a first gen…Plop plop plop plop plop,
The sounds of bare feet running.
Don’t be a sissy. If there were no cats,
I would be able to put
my sheets on quicker. Why do the lyrics
of any song I sing end
with “punch a baby?”
