The Book and Movie Review Show

At the MPS 7/23/10

I do not really even have the words to describe what is coming out. All I can do at this point is describe – using words – how I have no words to describe the new films this week. It’s quite the predicament that we are in, really.

The upcoming films this week are as follows. Don’t worry; you have nothing to be excited about:

Salt

Director: Phillip Noyce
Starring: Angelia Jolie

When CIA officer Evelyn Salt (Jolie) is accused of being a spy by a Russian defector, she goes on the run, putting all of her experience and skills to use to elude capture, learn the truth of her identity, and hopefully clear her name.

Ramona and Beezus

Director: Elizabeth Allen
Starring: Joey King, Selana Gomez, Bridget Moynahan

When grade-schooler Ramona Quimby (King) senses that her family’s home is danger, she uses her boundless energy and enthusiasm to save the day.

I found some words to use, check them out: After watching both of these trailers, I can say for certain that one of these movies at least appeals to my manly sensibilities much more than the other. In an attempt to not skew the votes, I will not say which of these movies that may be. I just know that the movie I’m thinking of starred someone who was in Changeling and Girl, Interrupted. That’s all I’m saying, and I will say no more.

What should we see for 7/23/10?

  • Ramona and Beezus (64%, 9 Votes)
  • Salt (36%, 6 Votes)

Total Voters: 14

  1. effika says:

Putting the Ramona Quimby series of books into movie-format completely undoes what the author was trying to do (you know, get kids to read). Because of this, you MUST go see Salt. No poll needed there!

Well, one would HOPE that the voted on movie would be Salt, but you never know with this bunch (this bunch = scary internet people).
