Mad Men now on Netflix Streaming [quick note]

This is going to be the quickest of Quick Notes because the title, as they say, says it all. You can now watch seasons one through four of Mad Men on the Netflix without having to bother with those pesky discs and those dreadful mail slips. It is better content like this that might just ease the pain of those recent price changes. Right? RIGHT?

Avatar: The Legend of Korra Comic-Con trailer and news. Get pumped.

Today certainly is one of the best days. Over the weekend, a trailer for The Legend of Korra came to light at that nerdy mcnerd-nerd show Comic-Con. It’s only a bit over a minute long, but it rocks the house all the same. Did I mention Korra rides a snow-bear? A SNOW-BEAR. I guess in Avatar-world it would probably be called a dog-bear or something, but because I am so excited, for now it’s a snow-bear.

The Amazing Spiderman will be like watching Mirror’s Edge for two hours

This trailer might very well be super old, but it’s new to me. Peter Parker can do for a reboot, and it’s getting one in 2012. Also, Emma Stone is in it, for those of you who are all about that girlie.

We all love A Game of Thrones, and Comic-Con has George R. R. Martin and Co. talking’ ’bout it [quick note]

Man, The Song of Ice and Fire is one giant stack of books. There are five books in this series so far, and SPOILERS there will probably be more. But we are getting ahead of ourselves. This week happens to be host to the Mecca of nerddom: Comic-Con, and because A Game of Thrones – the HBO version – is such a good show, Ser George of Martin and some of the cast sat down to talk about show stuffs.

I would feel like a total dong to simply steal quotes from the people who wrote the piece, so I will instead use what the internet calls a Hypertext Link, and send you merrily on your way to read this Kotaku article with all of the tasty bits (beware of minor spoilers). Within you will find fun anecdotes, and if you have any idea what “R.W.” stands for in the books, you will get some interesting info on how George feels about all that. I felt a chill while remembering all that dastardly business.

You might have noticed we haven’t had a show in a while

Guess what? If you answered “chicken butt,” you would not be too far off. Those of you that might give a crap about the show would by now have probably noticed that we have not had a show in quite a while. Two weeks, in fact. Now, don’t have too much worry. We have not stopped producing shows. The problem, however, is that the time to produce those shows have greatly been reduced, or, at the very least, shuffled around.

And why has this happened? Well, the time that would normally be set aside to edit has instead been changed over to working. Working at a job. You know, one of those places that allows you to eat and pay bills.

So, where does that leave us? We, as a collective, will have to figure out a shift change in shooting and editing time. This may take a bit, but hopefully not too long; that is, a week or two. Let’s hope it all gets sorted out.

In the mean time, I suggest you have a party. Do it.

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer. What More Do You Need To Know?

Upon looking for The Dark Knight Rises trailers (that’s why people went to see Harry Potter and the Whatever Thing Part 2.8456, right?), there seems to be two circulating in the mysts. One from WB’s official Facebook page, and then one fan made one that looks pretty fun but is a little less official. We have both in this post, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

Sand dunes + Englishman + Swords + Aliens + Cowboys = John Carter [trailers]

You know how trailers like to do that thing where they play out the whole film in two minutes and you end up thinking to yourself, “Why should I even see this now?” That gets on my nerves. If that also gets on your nerves, then you should probably watch this John Carter trailer because it explains absolutely nothing other than “Hey, look at all this flashy nonsense!”
