We’re bringing voting back! Vote for next week’s film. [AtMPS]

With only about 30% of Americans voting in any election, it’s high time we start going to the polls to make sure that the will of the people is heard. The “will” in question this week? The film we should see for the show!

Episode 112: Whaletown

Episode 112 of Pressed & Bound is online! It’s just a few days before the Oscars, so we spend some time discussing the nominees for some of the categories. We also wonder why the Best Original Score category is all weird.

We have also brought in an extra camera for this week’s show. DOUBLE CAMERA ACTION.

Amazon sticks its hand in the online streaming pot, stirs it up

If you have ever sat on your nice, comfy couch, watching the first season of Veronica Mars on your Xbox, PS3, or Wii via Netflix, and thought, “I really wish I could get a similar service that only really works on my computer,” then do I have news for you. Episode 111: The Return

Episode 111 of Pressed & Bound is online! After weeks of being under a blanket of snow, the sun has returned and we are able to venture outside in the soft winds of the Oklahoma prairie, or downtown OKC.

A couple of things are new this week. The first: Joe’s beard. The second: we have added a much needed cameraman/director to the show by the name of Colin! Things can only get better from here.

Hulu Plus adds Criterion Collection, you have no excuse now

In a move that comes out of nowhere, Hulu Plus subscribers will now be able to watch a metric buttload of what some people might call “important” films. As of today, Criterion and Hulu have launched 150 films for all your streaming desires.

“150 films? That’ll be a ton of commercials!” You would think, except commercials are regulated to the beginning of these films. After a couple of minutes, you are free to watch the entire feature without ads. Two minutes is about how long it takes to make a nice bag of popcorn.

You can learn more about these happenings from the Hulu Blog or Criterion Blog. And if you have never heard of Criterion, well shame on you. Get educated.

If you are not currently a Hulu Plus subscriber, the monthly fee is $7.99 and it works quite well on the PS3, I might add. Now if you will excuse me, it’s time to go watch some Kurosawa.
