Do not dread the Dreadnought [steampunk]

Steampunk art is so great.
An author that I personally enjoy – and one that we have talked about before – has, as of today, released a new novel entitled Dreadnought. Who is this person? Well, if you can use your eyes to see, you might have gleaned from the image above that her name is Cherie Priest. We had a post about her a while back if you have been paying attention. So what’s all the hubbub about this novel?

The Social Network [soundtrack]

Just a heads up for all of you fans of music and movies, today (at least), Amazon has the soundtrack to The Social Network going for one penny shy of three bones. Come to think of it, who was it that put a monetary value on our bones? And why is it so low? You would think that some would be worth more than others, but you’d be wrong. The Virginity Hit not a hit [quick note]

The poll that we have put up this week was between two titans of cinema, Resident Evil: Afterlife and The Virginity Hit. When we put up polls on the site, it is generally going off of what are expected to be a nationwide releases. The two or three films that come up are the ones that go into the poll. And usually that works out just fine, and people vote, and then we do a show.

This week, however, it turns out that no one in the greater Oklahoma City metro area has any intention of showing The Virginity Hit, due probably because they have watched the trailer. That leaves us with only one option: Resident Evil: Afterlife. That is what we will discuss for this week’s show.

Zombies and low brow comedy [At the MPS 09/10/10]

This coming week brings us two very simple films. One is all about the plight of peaceful undead inhabitants of the future zombie apocalypse and the other is a quick (or quicker, depending on you look at zombie film) movie about high-school kids trying to lose their virginity. Somebody call the Oscar judges!
